Terms & Conditions

1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Basis Lab (“Basis Lab”, “we”, “us”), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Basis Lab.
2. Who can use Basis Lab
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
You sign in with Google or with a link sent to your email. Keep access to that account secure and do not share it. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
4. Courses written by AI
Lessons, figures, answers, practice problems and feedback are generated by AI models as you learn. We work to make them accurate, and answers are checked where they can be, but generated material can still contain mistakes. It is for learning, not professional, medical, legal or financial advice. Check anything important against a trusted source.
5. Free course and paid plans
- Your first course is free. Starting more courses requires a paid plan.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly, in advance, and renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Courses you already started stay readable.
- Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refunded.
- If prices change, we tell you before the change applies to your next renewal.
6. Using Basis Lab fairly
You agree not to:
- break any law, or use Basis Lab to create unlawful, harmful or abusive material;
- get around usage limits, the free course limit or payment;
- scrape, copy in bulk, or resell lessons or other content;
- interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or overload it;
- use Basis Lab to build a competing product or to train AI models.
7. What you put in
Your goals, questions, answers, code and notes stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them to run Basis Lab for you, including sending the parts needed to AI providers to write your lessons and check your work. Feedback you send may be used to improve Basis Lab without any obligation to you.
8. What we provide
Basis Lab, its design and software, and the courses it writes for you are owned by or licensed to us. You may use your courses for your own learning. You may not republish or sell them.
9. No guarantees
Basis Lab is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that it will meet a particular learning outcome.
10. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Basis Lab and ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to [email protected]. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other people at risk.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When a change matters, we tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Using Basis Lab after that means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America.
